Long time no see...seriously!

I am so sorry that it has been so dang long! I am so bad at updating this thing but I do have a couple of good excuses for it. This year has been really busy and very crazy. Not only are we expecting our second baby but we have just bought our first house. And between the two it has taken a ton of time and energy! :)
First the baby! We are expecting a little girl on or around the 9th of November and we are super excited for her to arrive. Andrew wasn't so sure about the girl thing at first but I am proud to say he has come around and is looking forward to having a little princess. Aydan is also excited for his little sis and frequently is trying to talk to her through the face on belly technique. Which is sometimes startling to her since he likes to pretend he is a dog on occasion and barks at my belly.
Speaking of Aydan the little tyke has grown into quite the big boy this year. He is loving his ABC's, numbers, shapes, and colors. He is also trying very hard to learn to read and is writing a few of his letters and numbers. He is finally starting to talk up a storm which has made us very happy since last summer he wasn't speaking at all. He has also lost all his baby fat and is looking like a big boy which kinda makes me a little sad. :(
After a whole year of searching and a lot of coaching from Andrew we have finally made the big step of purchasing our first home. I say coaching because I so did not want to buy a house here because I had gotten quite used to all the nice things in SLC . I did not liking living without a Costco or Cafe Rio but Andrew won out. He loves his job and feels like he is learning a lot and that we would most likely be here in Elko for another 5 to 7 years. Well that did it for me! I did not want to rent a dumpy apartment for that long!! So off we went looking at houses. After seeing around 30 or so we finally found one be both loved and we put in an offer that very day. After a very hairy closing process, in which we had to live in a hotel for 4 days!, we finally moved in. We have been here almost 6 weeks and it is really starting to feel like home. We are loving our new ward and have already made some really great friends. We were recently called to team teach the 12 yr olds and we are really enjoying it so far.
Well folks that is it for now until I can get Andrew to set up my scanner so I can post some pics of the house. Love you all and hope everything is well with you!

Happy Halloween!!/Carving Up Some Pumpkins!!

Hey all! Sorry its been a while since we posted, but we have just recently found our camera again after losing it at Amberly's parents house. Here are some pics of us carving our awesome pumpkins:

Can you believe how long Andrew's hair is getting?

Here is our good friend Joey who carved the pumpkin on the left:

Andrew was very ambitous this year and decided to carve both sides of his pumpkin.

And finally here are some pics of Aydan being a super cute Dragon for Halloween!

We stayed in Elko this year for Halloween because Andrew had to work, I know grown up jobs what can ya do? Anyway we found out that Elko has a fun tradition of setting up these little houses in their convention center. Its called Trick or Treat Street and boy was it super busy. We waited in line for over an hour to trick or treat for ten minutes. After the Trick or Treat Street we headed over to one of Andrew's colleague homes to hang out for a bit and help them pass out candy. Aydan had a lot of fun playing with her two kids and they did a great job of sharing their toys! Something we need to work on with Aydan. :) We topped off the night with watching Ghost Busters with Joey and Lynsie Mortensen. All in all it was great night! Next stop Thanksgiving in California!

Aydan Dancing!

For the last few months Aydan as really been into dancing to any music that comes on the t.v., internet, or stereo. When he hears music that he really loves or gets excited about he jumps up on the coffee table and goes crazy. We have been wanting to get it on video for so long but our camera never seems to be charged. Thankfully our new good friends Joey and Lynsie were over the other day for dinner and caught the Aydan show on their cell phone. I hope you enjoy it!

The other thing I really want to get on video is Aydan watching "Nemo" he is so funny! He is starting to act out the parts and say all the lines, which probably means he has been watching it way to much! :) Or that we have been traveling too much this summer, probably a bit of both.

How a box turns into a fort. :)

For Mothers Day Andrew ordered me a freezer from Home Depot, I know not totally romantic but very needed. The box it came in was so big that even I could stand straight up in it and not hit my head. LOL that's probably not saying much. Anyway Aydan and I turned it into a fort for him to play in and he loved it! Please excuse Aydan not having his shorts on, he wasn't in the mood for them I guess. :)

Aydan falls asleep in the strangest places...

When Andrew and I checked on Aydan one night before we headed off to bed we panicked because we couldn't find him anywhere in his room! After a quick search, Andrew suggested we look under the bed and there he was totally asleep under his bed. :)

Help! I'm stuck in my bed and can't get out!! :)

So just so everyone knows we are alive and kicking. :) And to prove it here are some pics of what Aydan has been up to lately, namely getting stuck in his bed. He does this on purpose and you guessed it to get attention from his sleeping parents in the middle of the night or very early morning. It will be 3:00 am and then we'll hear this little voice calling: "Daddy...Mommy...Stuck!" These pics were taken when he was supposed to be taking his afternoon nap. Enjoy!
